Moyes already touting himself for a better job
|
Not a great piece of PR to suggest that WH is a stepping stone to revive his career....
From the BBC....
David Moyes says he could manage any team in the world and wants to prove it at West Ham.
Since the Scot was appointed Hammers boss last month, the club has moved out of the relegation zone and are unbeaten in their last three games.
Saturday's 3-0 victory at Stoke followed a victory over Chelsea and a draw against Arsenal.
"I think I'm capable of doing the job at any club in the world so I'm sure I can do it at West Ham," he said.
West Ham are now 15th in the Premier League and travel to Arsenal on Tuesday for a Carabao Cup quarter-final.
Moyes, 54, is rebuilding his reputation after unsuccessful spells in charge of Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland.
"I have to come here and show I can do it," he said. "You have to come and show what you can do. Your reputation doesn't stand for anything.
"You have to come here and try to get up and show you're capable of doing the job."
And I was just starting to like him.

He's not touting himself for another job, he's saying he can do the business anywhere and is going to do it with us.

FFS Alfs.
You regularly seem to find a negative in anything written or reported about West Ham, surprised you haven't blamed the owners for this?

To be fair i got you mixed up with "Sir Alfs" so will retract that!!! Still your still a bit of a numpty to think this article is in any shape or form Moyes touting himself?????
A couple of examples as to why you getting some grief for starting such a stupid thread..................
"I think I'm capable of doing the job at any club in the world so I'm sure I can do it at West Ham,"
"I have to come here and show I can do it,"
So far though we have won a couple of games but do you think come May and we finish as we are now in 15th he will have proved and be touting himself????

I must admit I found it an extraordinary comment for Moyes to make, so soon after West Ham's improved performances started. He has a history of gaffes in his comments to the press - perhaps he should employ one of Donald Trump's former White House spokespersons to put a better gloss on things.

I don’t think he meant it that way to be honest. Just that after several failures he has something to prove.

His been given a SIX month contract - wouldn't you be looking out for your next job if you was on a 6 month contract ??? I know I would.

Depending on who you believe, he has a 2.5 year contract, but we have the option of terminating it at the end of the season.
OR
He has a 6 month contract until the end of the season, and we then talk/offer a new one.
However all this knicker wetting someone will knick him or worry he maybe touting himself seems way off the mark IMO, for starters we are 15th and its only the last 3 games we have done well.........
Then realistically WHO bigger than us would be in for him??? think we can rule out the Top 6, only Arsenal and possibly Chelsea may be looking for a new Manager in the summer and i dont think either would see Moyes as a "big enough name" with proven track record, a European club? Well after his adventure in Spain i think he will not be too keen! Another PL side, but who would be considered a step up from us if you dont include that top 6, Everton!!!!

That's it. Sack him. Replace him with Nobes. Or Goldo's mum. At a push, Russell Brand. I'm VERY disappointed.

These quotes sound like what he said when he took the job. And they well may be.

They’ve taken his spiel from when he took the job and made it look like he’s said it after the Stoke game.
On the morning of a big cup tie.
Ah bless.

I have tried to get annoyed about what Moyes has said here to the BBC but failed so to do.
I shall google “how to get the arse about anything to do with WHU” and see if that helps.
